Overview

“Plantation for Martyrs” is a living tribute to the brave hearts who sacrificed their lives for the motherland. Launched on Independence Day 2018, this initiative connects national pride with climate responsibility. Through tree plantation in the name of martyrs, we aim to turn remembrance into regeneration.

🎯 Objectives

1. Tribute to the Patriots:
To pay respect and tribute to those who gave their lives for the country.

2. Living Memorials:
To create a permanent, living memory through trees that continue to grow and inspire.

3. Climate and Patriotism Connection:
To blend environmental consciousness with patriotic responsibility.

4. Citizen Engagement:
To encourage participation from every section of society—students, families, institutions, and civil society.

5. Policy Advocacy:
To urge the Government of India to implement a law mandating tree plantation in the name of every martyr or patriotic citizen who dies for the nation.

Advocate for a national policy mandating at least one tree to be planted in the name of every soldier or patriot who sacrifices their life for the country.

🌱 The Beginning

The first symbolic tree—a Bokul Tree—was planted on 15th August 2018 at the Mahula Vivekananda Samiti premises, in memory of CRPF jawan Shri Nirmal Ghosh, who was martyred in an anti-terror operation in Jharkhand. His parents participated in this moving ceremony, setting a precedent for the years to come.

📅 Yearly Observance

Every year on 15th August, trees are planted across the country in memory of selected martyrs. Each plantation site becomes a green monument, a place where stories of sacrifice bloom with life. Over the years, individuals, schools, communities, and organizations from all walks of life have joined the campaign.
