Native Tree PlantationDrive at AK Public School
Building a Green Campus for a Sustainable Tomorrow
With the vision of creating a greener and more climate-resilient future, Mission Green Universe (MGU) Foundation successfully organized a Native Tree Plantation Drive at AK Public School under the inspiring concept of “Green Campus.”
This initiative was undertaken to promote ecological awareness among students, strengthen biodiversity conservation, and transform educational institutions into environmentally responsible spaces. Through the plantation of native and fruit-bearing trees, the program aims to build a healthy ecosystem while inspiring young minds to develop a lifelong connection with nature.
Educational institutions play a crucial role in shaping future generations. A green campus not only improves environmental quality but also becomes a living classroom where students learn the importance of biodiversity, sustainability, and climate responsibility.
Trees Planted During the Program
A rich variety of native and ecologically important tree species were planted as part of this initiative, including:
Bokul
Ashoka
Chatim
Kath Lichu
Polash
Mahua
Gab
Velvet Apple
Mango
Blackberry (Jamun)
Bohera
Boral
Box Nut
These trees were carefully selected to support local biodiversity, improve environmental balance, provide shade, and contribute to long-term ecological sustainability.
The Mission Green Universe Foundation remains committed to expanding the Green Campus Movement by encouraging schools and institutions to adopt native tree plantation as a meaningful step toward environmental restoration.
“Planting a tree is not just an act of hope; it is a promise to future generations.” 🌿
